Revelation 19:17-21

17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather together for the supper of the great God, 18 that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great.”

John Piper remarks that this second coming will be like lightning and vultures.  Jesus is recorded in Matthew 24:27-28 saying, “For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.  For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together.”  All kings, captains, mighty men, free and slave, great and small will be judged.  Just as God is indiscriminate about who can accept salvation he is just as indiscriminate about who is judged.  Everyone is to be held accountable for their rejection of Jesus.

19 And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. 20 Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21 And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.

All who lived in the flesh will have their flesh destroyed.

The long-awaited battle of Armageddon is almost over before it begins.  Satan and his false prophet are captured and cast alive into the lake of fire.  Everyone else is slain.  None are left alive.  All who have said no to God are killed by His own words.  There is no war described as we would envision this final war.  All that is described here is that the Word of God from Jesus immediately kills all who have followed the beast and have said no to Him.

The Revelation of God’s Word, to all those who refused Him, destroys them and casts Satan away.

Jesus is coming again, are you ready?
